Intern - The Grand Traverse Resort and Spa
Term: Summer 2024
During my internship at The Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, I was tasked with managing and revamping the Instagram account for The Club, a private membership-based division of the resort. Upon arrival, the account featured mostly stock imagery and promotional content. I recognized an opportunity to refresh the brand identity and make the content more engaging, authentic, and member-focused.
I implemented a content calendar to ensure consistent daily posts, each highlighting a unique aspect of The Club experience—from fitness and golf to dining and community events. My goal was to emphasize the people and atmosphere that make The Club special. This role strengthened my skills in brand strategy, visual storytelling, and audience engagement.
Key highlights:
Rebranded Instagram presence to better reflect community and culture, designed and implemented a structured content schedule to boost consistency, increased engagement by prioritizing member-centered storytelling and original visuals, developed campaigns to highlight amenities, staff, and special events, and gained experience in time management, content planning, and marketing strategy.
External Marketing Director Work
External Marketing Director - Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity
Term: Spring 2024 - Fall 2024
During my time in the Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity, I was elected as the External Marketing Director. As External Marketing Director, I was responsible for overseeing our sorority’s public-facing image across social media and digital platforms, like facebook. I curated content that aligned with our chapter’s values, promoted events, and strengthened our brand identity within the campus and broader community. I ran the Alpha Xi Delta Parent's Page and was able to update the AXID parents on what was happening within our chapter! I collaborated closely with internal leadership and external partners to ensure cohesive, high-impact messaging. This role required strong visual storytelling, strategic thinking, and proficiency in content creation tools and social media trends.
Key highlights:
Managed and grew engagement on Facebook, created original content to highlight chapter achievements, philanthropy events, and recruitment, partnered with local businesses and organizations for cross-promotional opportunities, and monitored analytics to optimize reach and member engagement.
